Courses Description
     Algebra is a year long course in which students are introduced to various topics including:
  • Rational Number Operation *
  • Linear Equations (Writing, Graphing, Solving) *
  • Linear Inequalities *
  • Absolute Value (Equation/Inequalities) *
  • Systems of Equations *
  • Practical Applications *
  • Power and Exponent Operations *
  • Quadratic Equations
  • Polynomials and Factoring
  • Proportional Reasoning
  • Functions

* - These topics will be discussed in Algebra 1A. Algebra 1A is designed for students who may need extra attention to concepts. Algebra 1B will be course students take in ninth grade.

Special attention is paid to various types of technology.  TI-84plusGraphing Calculators are used weekly. Also, the Internet is valued and utilized as a weekly on-line project mechanism as students in 8th Grade prepare for the PSSA Assessment.
