The textbook used in this course is called
Pre-Algebra by Prentice Hall. This course provides students
with a educationally sound base as they prepare for Algebra next
year. In other words, students will master all concepts included but
not limited to:
Technology used will include TI-84plus Silver ed. Graphing Calculators. The Internet is utilized as a valuable tool. There are various ways students will be assessed. Hopefully, each will help students reinforce and extend their understanding. Students will also learn to assess your own progress through various writing experiences. Our goal includes developing, in each student, the reasoning, problem solving, and communication skills necessary to apply mathematics in real-life activities as they enter Algebra in 9th Grade. Becoming confident in using those ideals assists in decisions throughout daily life. |
