I was born July 18, 1951, and raised in Roslyn, Pennsylvania. I attended school in the Abington School District. During my youth, I took piano and organ lessons, played sports and was active in girl scouting. I graduated 35th out of 906 students from Abington High School in 1969.

I attended Lock Haven State College from the fall of 1969 until June of 1973. I played varsity field hockey and lacrosse, junior varsity basketball, and intramural badminton. I worked as a dormitory counselor the summer after my junior year and my entire senior year. I also had a job refereeing field hockey, basketball and lacrosse games in the community. I was active in many different clubs such as chess, sailing, and a women's sport club. As a member of the honor society, I was named in "Who's Who In Education."

Wissahickon Years
I began teaching here in the fall of 1973 at Shady Grove Elementary School. I taught health and physical education to grades 7-9. I also coached lacrosse, field hockey and basketball for the school district and softball for the community. I continued to play field hockey, lacrosse, volleyball and softball on community teams. I continued my education at Lehigh University and received my master's degree.
In 1975 I moved to the newly built middle school. Here I taught health and physical education for Grades 7-8. While at WMS, I coached field hockey, basketball and lacrosse. Then, in 1977, I was married. In 1984, I was furloughed and joined the Navy.
In 1985, I joined the WHS staff.. Here, I continued to coach for the district and play softball myself. I also coached for MCCC and Beaver College. I began to referee for various sporting events. After two years of service, I was transferred to Blue Bell Elementary School. I spent the summer taking courses to update my knowledge for this age group and to continue my education.
I taught physical education for five years at Blue Bell before going on childcare leave. While at Blue Bell,, I continued to referee various sporting events in the community.
On returning from childcare leave in 1991 I had the opportunity to teach health and gym at Stony Creek where we received recognition from the state for becoming a demonstration center. I was transferred to the Wissahickon Middle School and Shady GroveElementary in 2004. I am currently teaching physical education ito grades 6-8th at WMS. I am also teaching 6th grade health.
