END OF THE YEAR AWARDS - by Steve Ebert, 6^th grade Guidance Counselor

This year there will be some changes in the awards given and the criteria used at our end of the year awards assemblies for 6^th, 7^th, and 8^th grades. In the past we have awarded Keys, Plaques, and Letters to students based on a combination of their grades and the achievement of Distinguished Scholarship roll and Honor roll during the first 3 marking periods. However, after gathering input from parents, staff, and students, there will be some changes made to this process.

Beginning this year, we will now move to a 2 tier system where students can earn a Plaque for achieving Distinguished Scholarship roll and a Letter for earning Honor roll during the first 3 marking periods. Additional new and improved awards are also being researched and selected. This is a change from what is written in the student handbook and should more clearly reward the accomplishments of our students.
